What is Fire Safety Training?

All employees under law require a certain level of fire training and information. As a minimum, new starters would need a basic induction which covers the alarm system, emergency procedures, the means of escape from the building and a designated assembly point. Staff also need to know what type of firefighting equipment is available within the premises, where it is, and the safety considerations of their use. Fire extinguisher training for employees is essential and legally required wherever a fire extinguisher is present as any improper use of extinguishers can be dangerous. Fire safety training must also consider the specific role that each person performs within the business and the level of fire safety responsibility they are required to undertake.
